These Freeaim VR Shoes are by British startup Freeaim. They allow the wearer to walk "infinite distances in any direction," and without requiring a harness.
They're not just sandals with rollers; they're equipped with motors, and the clever bit is that an algorithm ensures the wearer stays safely centered on the walking surface. The surface must be hard, not carpet, and the company recommends it be 2m (6.5') square. The rollers only start if you walk, so you can sidestep or turn in place without activating the rollers and slipping.
Here's what they look like in use:

The shoes are still in the prototype stage, and can currently support walking, fast walking and a slow jog, but not running or jumping. The company says they plan to support walking backwards in the future.
