Subjectively I don't find this Lon:HUB device attractive, but can appreciate that it was designed with UX in mind. It's essentially a powerstrip designed to cling to the edge of your desk and provide easy access to useful ports, while hiding power cables beneath the desk. It also provides a modicum of cable management and features a wireless charger.
There's also a Pro version that features additional ports on the bottom.
The Lon:HUB has received a positive response on Kickstarter, where it's been successfully funded at $118K and climbing, with 27 days left to pledge at press time. The units are a bit pricey at $190 for the base version and $419 for the Pro. Multiple plug styles are offered.

I was one of the people sucked in by the promises of this project via Kickstarter but i've now lost all faith. They are now trying to charge everyone an additional 20% on top of the advertised amount and ignoring all attempts at communication. Not a company I want to deal with.
However, interesting that they chose a beveled edge desk, in their photos, that the pads on the bottom of clamp mechanism appear to just barely accommodate.
Keeping things off the floor helps keep the work area clean. COU's, power, modems, cables...
Looking at the variety of hubs, docks & adapters on my desk right now, I'd see the major benefit being secured to the desk firmly so to be able to plug stuff in & out without it moving about or needing two hands for the task.
