CAPSULE is a complete re-thinking and re-invention of bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, featuring extendable lab modules with streamlined layouts and supply chain systems. The designs reduce energy usage and waste while improving material handling and work flow processes.

Integrating material delivery machines with building modules reduces the amount of equipment needed, which then reduces the number of manufacturing facilities needed. In addition, the scalable and flexible production facilities are well suited to precision medicine manufacturing, allowing companies to quickly scale production capacity and respond to needs in developing markets.

The project made extensive use of Keyshot rendering and animation capabilities, allowing the team to quickly visualize a large-scale installation. The animations were then combined to create the project video.

Congratulations to designers Chinmay Bhogaonkar and Laurenz Simonis
and Marian Dembkiewicz who are current and former students from Advanced Product Design at Umeå Institute of Design . The project is a runner up in the Built Environment category.
