Hailing from Finland, the Karoo Adventure is a camping trailer that has received careful design attention. The Karoo design team's goal was to produce an extraordinarily lightweight, efficient trailer with features that the user can flexibly rearrange for different goals.
Let's start with the weight. The thinking here is simple: The heavier your trailer, the more fuel you'll burn (or if towing it with something electric, a trend the company has spotted, the less range you'll have). Thus the team got the Adventure down to just 750kg, or 1,653 lbs. (For scale, Airstream's smallest offering, the Basecamp, weighs 2,650 lbs.) On top of that, trailer's aerodynamic shape "[reduces] air resistance compared to traditional caravans by 51%," the company writes. "Together with the camper's light build this cuts fuel consumption for both electric and combustion vehicles significantly."
For the interior, the team considered the things outdoorspeople want and need: A place to lounge, a place to sleep, a place to cook, a bathroom, and space to haul gear. To accomplish all of these things in a structure just 4.23m (13.9') long, the team came up with some clever design tricks.
In the shot below, note the little shelf at right, which offers a cupholder and simply cantilevers out from a slit in the wall. This arrangement offers both flexibility of placement (i.e. anywhere along the slit), and the shelf can be quickly removed and tucked away when not needed.
Note that the lounge chairs do not have legs, but each rest on a single strut that slots into a track on the floor. (You can't see the strut and track on the right, as it's obscured behind the free-floating storage box/seat/ottoman, but it's there).
If you want to haul something, in this case a pair of e-bikes, the lounge seat struts can be slid rearwards in the track. The seats themselves flatten out vertically to open up the space.
Once you're on-site, have unloaded the bikes and it's time to snooze, the seats can be slid forwards in the track, flattening out horizontally.
With the bedding you've got stored in that Ottoman…
…now you've got your sleeping platform.
If you've got kids, a smaller sleeping platform can be suspended above the main one.
At the front of the vehicle, you've got the kitchen.
Before we hit the kitchen, note the flatscreen TV that folds down from the ceiling.
Back to the kitchen. The black rectangle you see at left is the refrigerator. Lifting the black horizontal panel at right reveals the stovetop and sink.
The stovetop/sink assembly can be pushed sideways to cantilever out of the vehicle, for when you'd like to cook outdoors.
You're probably wondering: Where's the bathroom? It's actually hidden behind the kitchen. To access it, you slide the refrigerator to the right.
You might be wondering why, as seen in the animation, you have the option to leave the refrigerator sitting over the cooktop. To explain, look at the bathroom's location, seen in the cutaway below:
As you can see, displacing the refrigerator provides the space for you to shower, or use the toilet.
The showerhead is on a hose that can reach outside of the trailer, if you need to rinse something muddy off.
Lastly there's an unseen feature: The trailer comes with a 6kW Li-ion battery. This isn't for providing motive force to the trailer; it's for those who want to charge up their e-bikes.
The Karoo Adventure is expected to roll out in 2026, with an asking price of €29,900, USD $32,393. (For scale, Airstream's Basecamp runs $46,900.) No word on if it will be exported to the 'States.

It appears that you can't use the toilet if you are cooking, since the stove and sink must be hidden and covered to permit the refrigerator to slide to the right to allow access to the toilet.
Well, the stove can be slid outside as well, so it is possible to access the toilet when cooking.
All this and the only consideration they gave to the newfound extra battery capacity possibilities of a towed unit was... an e-bike charger? Clueless.
The battery also supplies power to the locks, lights, USB sockets and television.
