Working with cutting edge technologies to create innovative products, experiences and spaces is a dream job for many of today's designers. Ideally, these designed experiences deliver delight to the intended audience, with interactions that are as clear, understandable and enjoyable as possible. However, these same experiences and technologies can sometimes be confusing, particularly when people encounter them in unexpected places and times. As a designer, how do you ensure that today's innovative yet unfamiliar solutions will become the desirable choices of tomorrow, and what considerations do you need to take into account when bringing new products to life?
This will be the topic at hand on May 17th at the panel discussion Design and the Mind: Making Better Tomorrow Irresistible . Core77 co-founder Stuart Constantine will moderate the conversation with a panel of leading design thinkers, featuring:
- Jen Ashman, Head Of Envisioning at Other Tomorrows
- Pat Marsh, Principal Designer at argodesign
- Jaime Moreno, Founder and CEO of Mormedi
- Jennifer Weng, Design Director and Head of Ventures for N. America at frog
The event is brought to you by IDSA NYC and Women in Design NYC, and is being hosted at NeueHouse Madison Square, a co-working space and community located in the Manhattan's Flatiron District, where creatives, innovators, and thought leaders work, socialize, and connect.
This event is part of the NYC x Design festival, and is one of six events being produced by IDSA NYC, taking place in Brooklyn and Manhattan between May 16th to May 23rd. Learn more and register for all the events at the IDSA at NYCxDESIGN 2024 page.
