May the 4th is probably an exhausting day for Disney lawyers, as they hunt down unauthorized Star Wars celebratory products being sold. Apparel company BustedTees may have found a loophole with their Imperial Officer baseball caps:
The row of red and blue tiles visually indicate, at least to Star Wars fans, a ranked officer in the Imperial Army. (They also speak of budget allocation for the 1976 film; those starship models weren't cheap, and the costume department appears to have been left to paint Chiclets to create the military insignia.) So the question is, cane one sue over a row of red and blue rectangles?
The caps run $35, which isn't bad considering the rank is Vice-Admiral.
