If you're in the Pacific Northwest or at South by Southwest, we know exactly where you should be this weekend to get your design on. For Seattlites, the IDSA Northwest Chapter is hosting the Northwest Design Invitational awards ceremony on Saturday, a presentation of some of the best work from the Western US over the past two years; the event is now in its 12th biennial incarnation.
If you're in Austin, on the other hand, you probably already know all about the Coroflot Creative Confab, a chance to hang out with hundreds of other creative professionals and companies looking to hire them. If you're registered for SXSW Interactive, come by on Monday afternoon, grab a Coroflot-sponsored beer, and listen to Frogdesigner Jon Kolko, Dell creative director Michael Smith, CCA department head Nathan Shedroff, and Coroflot editorial director Carl Alviani talk about the state of creative employment for an hour or two. Attendees are also invited to join the Confab Group on Coroflot to post suggestions, questions, photos and contact info; the group will continue adding members as the Confab travels to four other US cities this spring and summer.
Either way it's good times, good company and a fist full of good contacts. See you there.
