In the early days of your industrial design career, you're trying to create value for clients. Get far enough along and rack up the right accolades, however, and apparently you can convince companies to manufacture your flights of fancy. Danish veteran industrial designer Anders Hermansen, a longtime Bang & Olufsen collaborator, designed this $250 modernist toy Grip Car, in production by Teenage Engineering.
"All parts are made with CNC machining using aluminum 6063-T6, stainless steel, smooth bearings, and rubber tires. Grip Car comes in three colors: glossy red, matte black and anodized aluminum. The frame acts as the steering wheel with innovative mechanics that allow 360° rotation."
At $250 a pop, how many of these do you think they'll move?

Jee-zuz! I'd rather play with or display any toy car by https://playforever.us/ than have this dull thing anywhere near me. But thank god they used solid 6063-T6 aluminum... If it's not aircraft or military grade, it's just not right!
No scale? I guessed from the set screw size that the wheels were 50mm diameter. Looked it up and they are 80mm. So much for my observational skills. I like the design, but no place to show it off, even if I had the spare coin.
Teenage Engineering is an amazing company. They have a very unique and great design esthetic and products. I will be buying one to set on my shelf.
"At $250 a pop, how many of these do you think they'll move?" Once Temu starts selling knock offs for $25? Not too many.
