This CORE 500™ Digital Stethoscope, by industrial design firm Y Studios, was designed for healthcare technology company Eko Health. Y Studios, founded in San Francisco in 2001, explains:
"We took a very deep look at a classic archetype and identified critical areas where it could do better, much better. Together we crafted an instrument that fits high fidelity audio, a color circular display and a 3-lead ECG in a cast metal body that fits ergonomically in the hand in familiar ways."
"The heart and lung sounds can be recorded and shared wirelessly with specialists, all with the simple press of a button."
"Supported by Eko's FDA-cleared AI, the stethoscope flags abnormalities in seconds right at the point of care."

I can't believe that is not already a common device.. As for the tactile issues another poster noted: maybe a coating on the contact points that doesn't interfere with its functionality.
All aluminum design for a device historically known for being too cold on a patients skin is an interesting choice. I would like to see a patient focused version with a little heater.
