The simple fact is, the human body is not designed for prolonged sitting. Optimists believe the problem can be solved with furniture, so we periodically see some strange chair designs being brought to market, each purporting to offer a novel benefit.
The latest is this Movably Pro, now up on IndieGogo. It consists of a base, an adjustable-height footrest, and an adjustable-height seat. This seat is split into two halves, each on a pivot, that can swing down like a trapdoor. The idea is that users should periodically drop one half of the seat to stand on one leg, or drop both halves to stand and lean against the backrest.

At press time the crowdfunding campaign was more than two-thirds of the way towards its $95,000 goal, with 28 days left to pledge. The chair is going for $1,500.
