Here's a good example of re-thinking the design of a small, humble object.
Pushpins work well enough, they aren't in need of a design overhaul. But Italian industrial designer Fabio Verdelli brings a little bit of squishy joy to their use with his Jellyfish design:
Verdelli is a veteran designer, having been in the game for nearly 25 years. The Jellyfish is the inaugural product of Fabio Verdelli Milano, the product design brand he's Kickstarted. I don't see a "buy" link on Verdelli's website, but during the original crowdfunding campaign, an 8-pack of Jellyfish went for €14.
