This Push tape dispenser was done by Jasper Ohainski, as an Industrial Design student at Germany's Kunsthochschule (Art University) Kassel.
The finished product is made out of one piece of brass, with two depressions debossed into it; once bent into place, you just slide the roll of tape between the inside of the depressions—that is to say, the protrusions—and the roll is held in place.

love it!
Beautiful; no joints, bolts or screws, wields or springs.
the flat tape keeper behind the teeth in the last photo would suggest otherwise. it's a thing on every tape dispenser I've ever used, and is notably absent on the steel prototypes.
