The results are in! The latest 1 Hour Design Challenge: Laser-cut Grip Tape Inlay for a Longboard brought the largest number of entries in the history of the 1HDC, with participants uploading an incredible array of grip tape graphic designs.

Huge thanks to our sponsors on this challenge: Ponoko and Bustin Boards, who have been extremely generous with their offerings. It was a really tough call for the judges, but here are the winners:

well, having looked at all of 'em, I must say that I am disappointed. I came here from bustin's site and there were some great designs on the forums here but these aren't them; I do like the winner though as a graphic but knowing how this will be stuck to the board it won't work, and if it does it won't stay stuck. I had checkers on an old deck and they flaked off with only a bit of abuse, and once one peels the rest follow quickly. if this does get made I hope it stays on a wall somewhere for safe keeping.

I love the winning design, mainly because I love everything about "Da de Muertos", but... what about "Remember that the elements of your design (the individual pieces of laser-cut grip tape) will be applied to the board "by hand," so tiny, very complex pieces will be impossible to execute. " And this design has lots and lots of those tiny pieces!

I know its hard to choose but those don't seem the best at all.
I am sorry but the criteria applied to choose the winners is a bit weird. For example the first design is gonna be hell for the guy to apply it manually and that was one of the basic issues (although I find it a great design).
And the third design looks a lot like bennybtl's page 5 misses and mister (and it doesn't seem better)
with all respect, I felt that something had to be said.
