You know you're a baller if your house has leather door handles designed by Vico Magistretti.
Magistretti designed these Club handles in 1999. "As always seemed to happen with Vico, inspiration for Club was born during conversation," wrote manufacturer Antonio Olivari. "Talking with him about the feeling of comfort, he came up with the idea of a leather-clad handle that would be pleasant to touch."
"Along the lines of industrial logic, Magistretti designed two tapered half-shells to which the leather was glued. This gave continuity to the form and allowed us to avoid the sewn seam, which would have trapped dirt and been susceptible to wear and tear."
"A beautiful used shoe has a more beautiful color than a new shoe," said Magistretti himself. "This is the criterion of the use of natural leather on the handle. The hand touches with more pleasure the skin than the metal."
The Club handles recently received a refresh, with new leather tones from Poltrona Frau, below.
Not for nothing, but I read somewhere that Will Smith's house has leather floors.
