Bizarre Object Allowing You to Sleep Face-Forward on Airplanes Gets Kickstarted

Remember that strange telescoping travel-napping device below?

A similarly unusual product, the TruRest, was designed to allow users to sleep face-forward on airplanes. Designer Chloe Hill first started sketching the concept over a decade ago, after taking a long-haul flight.

Hill, who has a degree in Communication Design, says she then worked with industrial designers and engineers to prototype the thing:

It's designed to be clipped to a tray table for support, which I'm a little iffy on:

Nevertheless, the $145 object has been successfully Kickstarted. At press time there was still 11 days left to pledge.

What do you do on international flights when the seat in front of you actually reclines?

Might work great on a Spirit flight where the seats can't recline at all.

I have an inflatable version I bought at Amazon almost six years ago for $15. It rests on your legs, you kinda cross your arms through it for stability, and it has the opening for your face. I can even watch my phone in it. I just used it on a redeye this week. This one is no longer sold, but I easily found a similar one: https://amzn.to/3qAr26V
