Telephony: A step backwards for the nostalgic

Cell phones have made our lives more convenient, sure, but they've also made it impossible to hang up on telemarketers and frustrating spouses with the finality of a slammed landline phone.

For those who can't live without the sensation--or who just miss talking on a "regular" phone receiver--there's the Penelope Phone and Base by Hulger, for roughly US $72. Just plug your cellie into it and you're good to go.

With a receiver this meaty, you can again cradle the phone against your shoulder hands-free, reminding you how much you missed that perennial kink in your neck that you had back in the '80s.
