Hailing from Bavaria, Bowl is a barbecue grill designed by Thomas Kaiser and Christian Wassermann, former schoolmates who met while each pursuing degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Product Design. Manufactured in Germany by the company they founded, Höfats, Bowl is a steel hemisphere that sits on a simple tripod of three metal tubes.
However, Bowl's simple looks belie its functionality. First off the ash pan has been designed with an incorporated ventilation mechanism, which efficiently draws in air from the bottom. The resultant combustion is highly efficient and largely smokeless.
Secondly, because the tripod provides three points of contact for both the ground and the bowl, uneven terrain can easily be accounted for. On top of that, the bowl can be tilted as needed (to avoid a prevailing wind, for instance).
Thirdly the bowl can be fitted with either a solid plancha grill or a cooking grate. And because each comes in two halves, you can mix and match.
There's also a stainless steel lid, if you need to snuff the fire in a hurry.
A shorter star base can be purchased, if you just want to use the bowl as a firepit.
There are two sizes available: A Bowl 57 and a Bowl 70, with the numbers referring to their diameter in centimeters. You can learn more here.

Yes (really nice) but will the tubes not scratch the really nice bowl?
Otherwise eye-candy!
