So this thing here is called a Super Clamp. It's an indispensable piece of kit for photographers and you'll find them in every professional photography studio.
The design of the jaws allows it to securely clamp around cylindrical objects, square tubes, sheet goods and tabletops. The gold peg you see can be used to attach a camera or photography lighting, which would typically have a standard mount that mates with the peg.
Anyways, a bicycle accessories manufacturer called Altangle has adapted the design of the Super Clamp for their Hangar Connect object, which essentially consists of two Super Clamp variants connected by an aluminum pipe.
The result is what the company calls a "mount anywhere bike stand," for those who need to get their bike off of the ground to work on it.
Alternatively, it can be used as an impromptu bike rack.
The Hangar Connect runs $225.

It also resembles clamps used for various cymbals for a drum kit. I wonder if some of the inspiration came from there, too.
Looks handy, but I get slightly worried when I see it clamping a carbon seat post or frame. I'd be very careful about doing that...
An entire Park Tools bike rack costs about the same..... Sure this is slightly more portable but it also relies on a strong clamping element. For the same price you can just bring the whole system....
While it bears some similarities to the photo clamp, it’s not right to say that was the inspiration—- this same hinged clamp design has been the standard for bike work stands, both shop-grade and cheapo knockoff, for decades.
$225????? I mean it's slick and whatever, but jeez, that is very steep. I was guessing $50.
