This is experimental art furniture rather than practical concept work, but this Affordance Chair, by Seoul-based design studio niceworkshop, caught my eye.
I suppose there's a reason we don't see scissor mechanisms being used as height adjusters in chairs. Namely, that exposed screw (on the end where your legs go, no less). But this thing is just so weird that I can't take my eyes off of it, particularly when paired with its companion furniture.
