With this fadeaway jumper vs. the Thunder last night, LeBron James made sports history.
The two-point basket pushed him to 38,388 career points, breaking the seemingly unsurpassable 38,387 career points held by Kareem Abdul-Jabaar—a record that stood for 38 years.
Sponsor Nike of course knew this day was coming, and upon his return to the locker room, James was gifted a special pair of kicks that Nike had commissioned the L.A.-based Shoe Surgeon to create. They're based on the Nike LeBron 20s and made from crocodile.
"Crafted with the finest materials, this limited edition shoe features an upper made of authentic white croc and a golden iridescent swoosh. The marble leather adds a touch of luxury, while the ice soles pay homage to the date LeBron broke the record, and the XX Roman numerals on the tongue represent 20, marking his 20th year in the NBA."
These probably won't be coming to a store near you.
