Tesla Manages to Design World's Least Ergonomic Drinkware
An ergobomination
This absurd $75 three-piece tchotchke is not attributed to any designer, but is sold by Tesla as their branded "Sipping Glasses."
It consists of two 1.5-ounce, 3.5" tall glasses that cannot stand on their own, and are seemingly designed to be impossible to wash by hand. A highly polished extrusion of an unspecified metal serves as the base.
There is only one way to correctly orient the glasses into the base, and the glasses must touch if they are both to fit within it.
The design of the set is of course inspired by Tesla Tequila.

I love "ergomonimation" deserves an entire thread of it's own
Single use glasses: using them creates poor coordination which will result in breakage. Unless, of course, they are made from the famous Tesla bullet-proof glass...

Fore sure this will attract attention, but I doubt about anything further than that.
I see these glasses as adding to the dining experience. You have to thoughtfully pick them up from the base to drink and consciously hold it in your hand. In a fast-pace world, it's refreshing to see a product that demands full attention and for those otherwise unconscious movements to be thoughtful and slow.
I t looks cool, but I think its one of those "Just because you can doesn't mean you should" scenarios. Also, well done on "ergobomination", that'll definintly be making an appearance in an upcoming presentation.
