Nebo, the Texas-based lighting company whose innovative stuff we looked at here and here, designed this interesting Slyde King 2K flashlight:
The 2,000-lumen light slides open to reveal a 500-lumen work light. Coupled with the magnetic base, you've got a handy way to cast light perpendicular to any magnetic surface.
The Slyde King 2K goes for $60, though there's a lower-powered 500-lumen variant (pictured below) that goes for $50.

It's a nifty design but hardly news worthy. I"ve had a flashlight just like this for well over 10 years. This is nothing new or notable.
Thanks for reporting the history error, we fixed it just now. Please let us know if it keeps happening for you. As for comments we added back in this sidebar on the homepage - is this what you were missing?
Not sure where to put this, but history is super broken on Safari and Chrome, at least. Core77 seems to put a url into history for every single pixel moved.
