Belgian designer Sander Nevejans, who designed that crazy-thin Hong Kong Chair, has applied similar thinking to a desk. His Sane Desk is quite sturdy, but made from "industrial-grade aluminum," yet folds down to just 4cm thick:
Rubber feet prevent the table from marring your floors. You can run cables through the channels on the sides or through small ports punched into the top, and there are four tabs underneath where you can hang charging bricks.
One caveat, aesthetically speaking: "Scratches and serial numbers may appear on the product's surface due to the industrial-grade of the materials used and assembly process."
