The 2022 Core77 Design Awards Speculative Design category honors projects, whether physically or digitally produced, designed for the purpose of cultural commentary, intervention, or exploration, or created as speculative design for a client or educational institution. Examples include: future scenarios, social critique.
This year's Core77 Design Awards Speculative Design team was led by Alisha Bhagat, Futures Lead at Forum for the Future. Joining Bhagat on the panel was Holly Friend, Futures Consultant and Cultural Strategist, Brian David Johnson, Professor of Practice, School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University, Doc Martens, UX Designer at Teach for America and Board Member of the Design Futures Initiative, and Mansi Parikh, Founder, of Future Tense Inc.
