Beartooth is a small device that pairs with your phone over Bluetooth. Once connected, you can now push-to-talk, send text messages or share your location with other nearby users that have a Beartooth paired with their phone—even in areas with no cell service nor WiFi. This makes the device ideal for camping in remote locations, talking car-to-car on a roadtrip through areas with no service, or even communicating with friends in areas where cell service is overloaded (think music festivals or sports stadiums).
The device measures just 2.4" wide by 4" tall, is just under 0.5" thick and weighs 4.5 ounces. The battery capacity is said to be 1.5 times an iPhone 7 battery (indicating when it was invented, in 2016), and the company says the range is 5 miles for voice and 10 miles for text, assuming line-of-sight; outside of LOS, they say the range is "variable with terrain and obstructions." As a bonus, you can also use it to charge your phone in a pinch.
Beartooth retails for $299.
