The Mogabi is a portable, folding electric guitar that's easier to carry around than the traditional alternative. It can also be played without an amp, and can record using just the tech that's onboard (see video below for a demonstration).
"Whether you're on a plane, train, taxi, or subway, you can bring Mogabi with you to store easily in any trunk or overhead compartment. With Mogabi, you're traveling light with a speaker AND instrument all in one sleek package."
The company offers two different headstock styles, and also offers a left-handed version.
Expected to retail for $1,100, it's going for as low as $599 on Kickstarter, where it's currently killing it; at press time they had $244,914 on a $6,000 goal, with three days left to pledge.

Now what about the bass... why must they always leave us out?... so a bass is also being released when? I mean it's only fair you make a bass too... also the mic is a great idea and add on but one suggestion that could change the industry and is actually ground breaking, is to make them all be able to link to one another so you and someone else can jam together and both get the content from both devices on each device. For example if my guitar and yours would link/sync up then when your playing and I hit record it records us both! Now that would be disruptive... to see a whole band/bands all performing with travel instruments and excelling on them! All linked together making music for the masses
"Whether you're on a plane"... You'd better be good. REALLY good. :-) As a former gigging musician, I feel my instruments are some of the most difficult objects to contribute to world peace (with my neighbors): Drums, Bass, Baritone Saxophone, There IS a headphone jack, right? Seriously, the (essentially a) through neck design should keep it in tune better in a variety of conditions. Very nice design.
Absolutely incredible design. As a musician myself (brass) I often feel instruments are some of the most dificult objects to re-design becuase the form has to be able to produce the desired sound and be intitive to use. Now I need to learn to play the guitar!
love this!
