Prior to the advent of AR technology, if you wanted to become a sneaker designer, you had to do it the hard way.
In this day and age, artist Zachary Kroll is using AR to do it the digital way. Kroll designs sneakers as filters, then gives them out for free on Snapchat. The results is that anyone with the filter can "wear" Kroll's kicks:
Kroll calls the initiative SatARday, as that's the day of the week when he posts the submissions he's received from users wearing his filters.
"I aim to shatter traditional shoe design," Kroll writes on his site, BaldBoyDesign.Art, "while using the innate relatability that shoes provide, to challenge our relationships and perspectives of others."
