This is the cleverest design for a roof rack I've ever seen.
If you've ever pulled something heavy off of a roof rack, particularly one that's a bit too tall for you, there's always that oh shit moment during the weight transition. But this design from Norwegian company Dropracks allows you to use the rack itself to lower the object, safely and at a speed of your choosing, to a much more manageable height.
Take a look at the ingenuity of Dropracks' fold-out handcrank system:

Super smart. No chance you're going to mar the vehicle, and provided they can reach the crank, it appears even a child could do this safely. The maximum weight capacity is 80kg (176 lbs).
While it's got obvious appeal for recreational use…
...I'd also think that in Europe, where pickup trucks aren't common, this system must be a home run for folks who work in the trades, and they give you a little jobsite table space:
While Dropracks are currently for sale in Europe, they're only available for pre-order in America, with U.S. prices yet to be announced.

This product made the handling of heavy products so easy. Thumbs up!
I need this for my Caddy, what a great product that really makes a difficult operation much easier. The only draw back I see is the maximum weight capacity of 80 Kg. but maybe that is also for safety as that added top weight makes an already tall vehicle unstable. Thanks for sharing Core77 :-)
