An interesting concept: Metal Wall Games sells versions of classic boardgames that are played vertically on your wall, rather than horizontally and on a table.

I think we all know this one ain't gonna fly in the vertical orientation. Even some of the product photos show people playing it on a table, so maybe it's just meant to be stored on the wall:
I'm guessing all these games are either targeted at people with space-tight homes…or impatient gamers. There was once a trend of companies holding meetings standing up, rather than sitting, with the hopes of encouraging brevity. Maybe your brain gets to checkmate quicker when your knees are complaining?
