I often try to write posts encouraging readers to become design entrepreneurs. But for those who prefer conventional employment, the Core77 Job Boards is still the best place to look for an ID gig. Case in point: Remember that funky utility knife that turns into a scraper?
The company that produces it, ToughBuilt Industries, is obviously open to new ideas, and now they're looking for a Senior Industrial Designer for their R&D center in Irvine, California.
"We are currently looking for a highly-skilled full-time Industrial Designer with extensive experience designing consumer products. These positions are for driven designers with a minimum of 5 years of experience. A combination of strong design skills and mechanical knowledge is a necessity. Applicants must show a history of designs that have gone into production.
"These positions will be designing rugged tools and electronic products and involved in the entire development process from initial concept through manufacturing. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join one of the most exciting R&D teams in southern California. For those who make the cut, there will be opportunities for travel and growth within the company."
Sounds like pretty sweet gig. The full list of requirements is here.
