It's time to announce the winners of the 2020 Core77 Design Awards Community Choice prize.
One grand prize winner and 17 category winners have been chosen by the Core77 audience as their favorite awarded design projects of 2021, with the grand prize winner taking home a special prize of $500 cash.
And the 2021 Community Choice winners are...
The grand prize winner of the 2021 Core77 Design Awards Community Choice Prize is inaya. This project was a 2021 Student Notable in the Health & Wellness category and was designed by Emre Kayganaci, Célia Marchessaux, Shruti Agerwala, Suzanna James, Justin Tsang of the Royal College of Art.
Inaya is a customizable journal for individuals on medical journeys that aims to incorporate celebrations as a key part of the care process. Specific to cancer treatment, the medical journey facilitated by inaya is broken up into 3 phases: the first phase, the "bridging stage" is to develop an awareness of being present and building a hopeful outlook for the future. The "building stage" is next, and invites the patient to grow their understanding of the value of small celebrations and acknowledge the effects on the journey. Finally, there is the reflection section that helps develop a positive and reflective approach to the journey of recovery, by clarifying physical, mental and spiritual needs along with reinforcing celebration as a daily habit.
Congratulations to Emre, Célia, Shruti, Suzanna, and Justin for their win and a job well done!
