A Literal "Cutting Edge" Design Approach to Shower Drain Hair Catchers

Step on PressDrain and it cuts the hair into little bits

PressDrain is an unusual approach to bathtub drains: Rather than capturing hair which you then manually clear, it features a circular blade on the underside of a spring-loaded button that you step on to cut the hair into smaller pieces. The clippings then wash down the drain without clogging it (at least in theory).

Seeking just $1,000 in funding, the PressDrain was successfully Kickstarted just 15 minutes after the campaign launched. At press time they were up to $86,000 in funding, with 45 days left to pledge.
