Here's a cross between an ID school assignment, and working for a product company run by an eccentric boss. Imagine you're the designer, and here's your brief:
"Design a household object whose secondary purpose is something marginally useful. It must be made out of stainless steel, and its primary purpose is to clip to something else."
"Oh, and come up with 60 different designs."
That's the real-life design brief, in result if not in wording, of Italian manufacturer Clippe. The company does indeed offer over 60 types of clips, and part of the fun of sifting through them is figuring out what they do besides clip:
I love that brands like this still exist. It reminds me of NYC up until the '90s, when you could still find quirky stores that specialized in one or two obscure object categories.
