Portable Fireplaces: His & Hers

OK, so we know the Travelmate Portable Fireplace (top) is everywhere today, but 1) we can't help but looooove it's boxy-briefcasey-mod-chic design and 2) in our searches to find comparable models, we stumbled upon this lil gem: the Coleman Packaway Portable Fireplace Grill (bottom). For a mere $129.99 (yeah, that's 3% of the hefty $3,300 Travelmate price!), the Packaway does double duty as a fireplace and a grill. Travel perks? Its stand collapses and stores in unit when not in use, which all fits neatly in a padded carry bag that makes cruisin' with it a snap. "Handy lifting tool and cooking grate included. 1-year limited warranty." (Check that out Travelmate!) Fill it with some of that gel fire fuel and this dainty thing is ready to hear up any indoor picnic.

It really depends on what your looking for if you ask me, if your goal is to have an pleasing decor fireplace in your house then the price shouldn't be an issue :)

Portable indoor fireplaces are hot (sorry). But seriously: you don't have to mess up your walls, you can put it away when you're not using it, you can use it in multiple rooms, and you can lend it to people for parties, et cetera. I agree that the Coleman price tag is more appealing, but I don't understand how gender dichotomies are relevant. I'm female and I prefer the first one, which I presume is "his".
