  I'm no scientist, certainly no expert on energy wastage. But from a common sense POV, why not put your efforts into getting office buildings and industry to cut back on electricity usage instead of nickel and dime-ing homeowners?? I'll bet that's where the biggest power leakage is taking place. And instead of complaining maybe put your money where your mouth is and get rid of all your stuff that requires an AC adapter, unplug your TV's and everything else that you're not using, turn off your A/C and central heat, unplug your electric garage door opener etc etc.

  I can't believe that you think it is too much work to just unplug the one's you aren't using. Either that or you don't have enough imagination to think of that easy solution. Always need someone else to do all the work for you.
  To put that many switches on it, it would more than quadruple in size.

  as w said - poor on/off placement.
  I would have expected 6 independent on/off switches... one for each plug.

  Having the switch on the bottom isn't a very good idea with the trends in upcoming design.. things like this should be focused on saving power, not consuming it
