Two auto manufacturers whose designs cannot be accused of "following the pack" are BMW and Lexus. That being said, I'm not sure what either design team is doing when it comes to front ends, in particular. These parts of their cars now look like they were designed under heavy stimulant use, and/or to complicate life for their clay modelers.
Industrial designer Michael DiTullo tackled a BMW rendering fix earlier this year; now he's back to clean up Lexus' IS 350. Not just the front end, but the extraneous lines and surfaces that run the length of the car. I think his redesign is a tremendous improvement:

Much as I admire DiTullo, I'm thinking this is an too simplified way treat a complex problem. That said I have the same issue with other YouTube "designers" like TheSketchMonkey, where their work and fix is simply a 2D representation of much more complex 3D problem. I'm not a huge fan of Lexus current design direction, but I think it has served its purpose in establishing their own form language, which now others are copying rather badly, like Subaru (and BMW?). What I like about Lexus design is that it's designed on purpose to be rather fragmented and many-faceted, it's not like their designers weren't able make the different curves and lines meet up. I think many designers instinctively want to clean things up and make sense out of chaos, but sometimes thinking outside the box can create something unique and distinctive.
Sorry but your design looks like cheap garbage when you comparing it to the original Lexus design. If you want to redesign the car you should redesign it the way that would still look a brand of the car you redesigning instead of fully new unbranded car. Front of your is lexus design looks just terrible. That's my opinion
For the love of all that is good, why do so many Core77 articles require the reader to watch a video to make sense of them?
Please do a fix it of the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer! I was so stoked for the comeback but the reveal of the new design was just so underwhelming.
