In accordance with their Move to Zero plan, Nike is releasing a sustainably- focused line of gear under their ACG hiking and outdoors line for Holiday 2020. According to Nike's press team, 85 percent of the ACG Holiday collection contains 90 percent recycled content.
The Move to Zero campaign is an effort by Nike to move toward more sustainable systems within their company, with goals such as reducing carbon emissions across its global supply chain by 30 percent by 2030, diverting 99 percent of all footwear manufacturing waste from landfills, and more.

Many of us have transitioned to more outdoors-focused trips in the midst of the pandemic, and it appears Nike's design team is no exception. For Holiday 2020, their designers stayed local to conduct on-site research for the upcoming line. Inspired by Smith Rock in Oregon, just a few hours from the company's Beaverton campus, the team's site visit to the rock left them feeling there were improvements they could make to their existing outdoor gear to feel more prepared.

A big goal was to prove technical apparel can be made from largely recycled materials while not sacrificing quality. "Sustainability was our first filter for materials used in this collection, but we didn't compromise the identity of ACG style and attitude," ACG Apparel's Design Director Nur Abbas stated in a recent press release. "Wearers can continue to be protected from the elements when exploring awe-inspiring nature, or even wear the apparel beyond a weekend in the outdoors."
All of the pieces within the collection are meant to highlight Nike's capabilities when it comes to repurposing old materials. Their Misery Ridge jacket, for example, features a three-layer GORE-TEX fabric (developed in collaboration with GORE-TEX) with 100 percent recycled polyester on the interior and exterior layers.

Their Polartec Wolf Tree Hoodie is a piece that debuts new fleece technology Nike developed using 100 percent recycled materials. At a recent press event, Abbas noted that the recycled materials for the collection come from a number of sources, stating that, "oftentimes it's coming from waste at the factory in the mills. Other times we're looking at post consumer trash. So literally bottles coming out of the ocean, anything that might be thrown away. If we can take that out of the environment and make it useful again, we're trying to do that."

Am i wrong in thinking the subtitle "85% of the line is 90% recycled content" just means its in total 76.5% recycled content?
