The last time we saw LEGOs combined with Ikea products was in the kitchen of this French design duo. That could be called a hack, but now the two Scandinavian brands have launched an official collaboration.
Bygglek (roughly "build-play," in Swedish) is their co-branded range of storage objects, hitting Ikea shelves next month. The range of boxes have lids (and a portion of the handle recesses) molded with LEGO's proprietary stud pattern, so they do double-duty as staging areas for LEGO builds and clean-up containers for afterwards.
"The BYGGLEK collection consists of four different products: one set of three small boxes, two larger boxes, and one set of LEGO bricks to kick-start the playful experience. BYGGLEK can be used with any existing and future LEGO elements, as the studs used on the lid and front are part of the LEGO System in Play."
Prices haven't yet been announced, but the sale date has: October 1st.
