Here it looks as if he's preparing to cast copies of a robot action figure for a client, with at least one part that provides a molding challenge. I don't understand why you wouldn't just do those stack up parts within the 3D printed part. Even the existing parts he could have scanned them in to make rough frames. Seems like a way to speed things up.
