Kwanda, an online network operating largely on Slack that's described as "a village for those who want to build reliable and empowering systems for black communities" is offering up a great opportunity for Black aspiring UI/UX design students. Five applicants will receive a paid scholarship for Love Circular's 90-day part time and remote learning program.
As described in the application, "The UX/UI industry is lucrative and becoming ever more integral as companies begin to understand the importance of providing an excellent user experience through the design of their products and services. As product and service design becomes more ingrained in our daily lives, it's important that Black people have a role in designing these products and services."
The extensive course takes place every Tuesday and Thursday between August 4th and November 2nd of 2020. Participants will learn skills including but not limited to research, wireframing, user testing, color theory, portfolio building, and more.
Applications are due this Friday, July 24th, and are easy to complete. If this seems up your alley, don't miss your chance to apply—you can register here right now.
