Reader H. Andy Lingua came across an older post we did on Leonardo da Vinci's design for a self-supporting bridge, and pointed out that the method was used in ancient China as well. Lingua also pointed us towards one of the quickest and simplest demonstrations of how the bridge can be built; we've embedded it below.
