The Transportation area certainly demonstrates a current grey area in the market; while some car manufacturers are holding onto traditional car forms (like this model here), other autonomous models are beginning to demonstrate entirely new form factors that convey a sense of friendliness rather than aerodynamics. 3 of 59

The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQ Silver Arrow Taking a nod from the Batmobile, this car that features just one seat and a one-of-a-kind door (if you can call it that!)—the futuristic car apparently takes a lot of inspiration from the W 125 race car made in 1937. Core77 12 of 59

Mercedes-Benz Vision URBANETIC This autonomous car concept created by Mercedes-Benz is one of many self-driving models presented at this year's convention. It is envisioned as a modular unit that can be used as a taxi service or delivery vehicle. 13 of 59

3D Printing at CES A number of 3D printers were once again on display at CES, and each year amaze in terms of how the scale and detail available at affordable price points improves year by year! Core77 44 of 59

Core77 at CES We had a great time hosting different talks by designers & CEOs at the Design & Source Pavilion, including Filippo Yacob, CEO of Primo Toys who shared a little bit about his newest product Pigzbe, a toy that teaches kids about financial literacy and cryptocurrency. Core77 45 of 59

Core77 x CES Another speaker, Francois Nguyen of frog, spoke about the current reign of the rectangle in design and his predictions for how design forms will evolve in the future. Core77 46 of 59

Sensio Air Sensio Air, seen in Eureka Park at CES, not only tracks air quality like many other products on the market, it also can detect and identify different allergens in the air. Core77 47 of 59

Health is Wealth Sleep and wellness were a big theme at this year's festivities, as demonstrated by products like the Hüpnos tech integrated sleeping mask Core77 48 of 59

Ovie Smart Food Storage Ovie is a startup focused on helping consumers keep track of food freshness to eliminate as much fridge waste as possible; their tupperware collection includes tags that connect to an app, notifying you when food is suspected to go bad. Core77 49 of 59

Gaming—perhaps to no one's surprise—was also a huge aspect of this year's show. Core77 50 of 59

The prevelant gaming theme seems to be the incorporation of VR to create lifelike experiences, whether it be in combat or going on a fantasy quest. Core77 51 of 59

From the looks of this year's show, VR might also aspire to replace traditional amusement parks and carnivals using lifelike simulations. Core77 52 of 59

Laevo Exoskeletons provide back support for workers who need to do a lot of heavy lifting or tasks that require them to bend over frequently. 53 of 59

Another year, another CES for the books. During our time in Las Vegas for the biggest technology trade show of the year, there were laughs, there were naps, but most importantly there were thousands of LED screens to stare at. We went through five days of utter sensory overload so that you didn't have to. Above, feast your eyes on some of our favorite (and most hilarious) finds from CES, including but not limited to facial recognition technology, flexible OLED screens and massage chairs. Not pictured: a blender that also acts as a speaker and phone charger. We thought we'd spare you those details.
