Bookends for Cooks

These bookends, made of molded plywood and marble, are meant to go in the kitchen. Although they certainly are a handsome addition to any shelf.

3 Steps

This portable set of 3 steps allows the user to tread on everyday objects which he/she would intuitively avoid--namely eggs, light bulbs, and tennis balls.

The casing sides are transparent so that both the onlookers and the user (with the aid of the angled mirror) can visually savor the act of crushing the contents.

Personal Water Filtration System

This unique water bottle has a built-in filtration system which allows its modest 16 oz (500 ml) capacity to be refilled in 30 seconds with bacterially or chemically tainted water. Special features minimize the risk of contaminating the purified drinking water during all modes of use.

Nautilus CD Holder

For some reason, all portable CD players look like Chicklets--usually the grey-black variety. Yet these are products often used by younger people who listen to loud, colorful music. What a dichotomy. Same with the case, which might be one of those zipper-style booklets--also from the School of Chicklet Design.

Imagine a CD carrier which looks attractive and exciting, is easy to use, protects its contents, and is priced inexpensively. The center is nothing more than sponge foam, molded and sliced. The CDs slot into the soft center where they are be held tenderly yet securely. The hard outer shells, compress this sponge when closed. The fastening hinge is a simple push-pull device, made from a polycarbonate, aluminum or steel. And if designed right, it might even look good next to a grey-black Chicklet.

Stratos Pencil Sharpener

A manually operated desktop sharpener--respite from a world in which everything has become electrically powered. Studies have shown that use of such a device is both enjoyable and relaxing. Form appropriate in an executive and/or design environment. Mounting system compatible with glass table tops.

Alias Renderings

These last two images are from the mind of K.C. At left is a TactileScope, which projects images into your brain through direct contact. At right is a typical lunch for K.C. - a large helping of sushi.
