SunWheel is an online boutique introducing four Celtic seasonal festivals; The products including fashion apparel, pins, incenses, festival kit toys and stories behind them. It's for modern pagans, also for you and me.

Ancient culture recognized sacred, at least much more than humanity does today. SunWheel devotes to evoking enchantment and fantasy in the world around us through modern ritual.

Jumi Kim

Hello,

I am Jumi. I am graduating from the MFA design at the School of Visual Arts.

In today's digital age, people's manners around digital products are changing all the time. Does this mean that the rules or codes of digital etiquette are in flux?

We offend or get offended by our colleagues, clients, or friends due to the lack of consideration for others and even if it is not on purpose. It is also easy to misunderstand each other online because there are no facial expressions or body language.

The internet makes people feel like they can say anything and it is okay to hurt other's feeling. People leave offensive comments and start fights with other people who they have never met in person. It is easy to be that way because we exist anonymously in online space. We are living in the digital age where new digital products are introduced every day, but we are not sure how to use them appropriately with others. Are we living in a time where a civil digital etiquette does not matter at all?

This is why I created Edikit. Edikit helps us explore the blurred boundaries of digital etiquette and raise our awareness of our behavior online in order to enhance our interpersonal relationships.

Edikit has three tools using Artificial intelligence to cultivate digital etiquette so far. Edikit will have more tools as we grow in the future. EdikitBoard is a virtual smartphone keyboard that is designed to help us communicate better. Our users can personalize their preferences for words that they prefer not to use and for their tone. The keyboard alerts inappropriate, or offensive words, and tones by accessing user settings and suggesting better words to use. Edikit can also help our users write appropriate emails and comments by making suggestions to enable people to be more civil. EdikitMode makes people's phones remain blurry to help them enjoy their quality time with others. It is designed to help people be more polite and engaged and not bothered by their phones. EdikitRobo is designed to improve communication to be polite and enjoyable between humans and robots.

I will demonstrate how Edikit brings us a harmonious way to live with our digital devices since we are living a digital life.

Linda Zhuojun Li

East Side is a digital guide to explore East Asian cuisines in New York. There are many East Asian chefs and owners who believe in the fact that they can bring new cultural experiences to a different group of audience through authentic food from their home culture. I hope more and more New Yorkers, especially the ones who are foreign to East Asian culture and eager to try new things, could discover the same kind of authenticity I found in this city.

The core product is a mobile website, which provides information in a welcoming and accessible way. The website offers tips of how to consume specific cuisines and their origins, as well as the stories of different restaurants and the people behind them.

Accessibility is the top concern for this platform's audience as they are learning lots of new things for the first time. Rather than presenting the East Asian contents in a traditional manner, I chose to approach the visual direction in a contemporary, open, clean and cheerful style. This choice of look and feel in font, color, and illustration also applies to the event design for East Side Food Festival.

Rui Li

Hi, I'm Rui, a recent grad from the School of Visual Arts MFA Design program. I mainly focus on Graphic Design, Motion, 3D Modeling, and Coding. This is my thesis project called Pivot, which is a set of mechanical toys that encourages children to explore science and engineering. It consists of a variety of different wooden components. Its main advantage comes from its emphasis on flexibility because Pivot provides a vast array of possibilities that empower children to achieve almost any type of mechanical movement. Pivot also comes with a guide book and a supporting app.

Pivot Product and Packaging
Physical Prototype
We insist on using solid wood as the primary material, not plastic, to make our product safe, sustainable, and provide a unique experience.
Demo Animation
Pivot provides a vast array of possibilities that empower children to achieve almost any type of mechanical movement.
Dynamic Poster
In terms of visual language, Iadopt a very simple, concise and bold style. All graphics are displayed in very large sizes and are filled with pure colors without strokes. At the same time, because this set of toys emphasizes connectivity, I use two components or more together and make them connected to show a dynamic effect and give an intuitive play instruction for the new users.
Guide Book
An instruction guidebook will accompany each package. This book explains a lot of basic infor- mation for each mechanical form and encourages children to create something on their own.
Supporting App
We provide a supporting mobile App, which also offers four main functions: Classroom (online educational resources), AR, Ideas (sharing community) and Store.

Things I Do When I Go Online
As someone who spends a large amount of time online, I am curious about how other people are spending their time in the digital space. Do they like it? What are they looking for? Are they happy with their digital life?
Digital Living Is Real
The majority of our current digital environment prioritizes efficiency, profit, user engagement—as a result, our individual senses are often leveraged, our behaviors standardized, our focus diverted, all for the sake of distributing and consuming more content. Most importantly, as individuals, we have very little control over the structure of this digital environment, other than choosing to either be in or out of it.
Camp Futur
Perhaps what we need is a little more control over the structure of our digital life, what we want it to be, and how we want to live it. Camp Futur wants to hand that control over to people, and motivate them to construct the digital lifestyle that is truly theirs. In the form of a responsive website, Camp Futur is an online campground for people to restore their digital senses.
Activities at Camp Futur
Camp Futur provides four types of activities, each designed for people to spend quality time online while staying aware of their digital surroundings.
Sample Activity
Example of a PAUSE activity. Star Watching prompts campers to look at the stars for a while.
Product Features
Registered campers can edit their activity schedule, specify their areas of interest, and change campground styles.
