Through our communications with the design world at Core77 we've noticed again and again the relationship between designers and musicians. Whether as solo musicians, DJs, bandmembers, instrument makers, or simply audiophiles, designers are a musically inclined bunch. Both are creative efforts, so it is no surprise that so many of one discipline are involved in the other. Since Napster and its spawn opened the floodgates for collecting and distributing music electronically, coupled with the rise of portable listening devices, amassing huge collections of music is easy. Its tempting to collect every song you ever liked, especially when you first figure out how to do it. Before you know it you have five or ten thousand songs on your computer. Given the diversity of the design world and the practices within, and the range of music listened to in our own office, we started wondering what the playlists of other designers look like. So we decided to document it to share with others. When you have a moment, please send us your current playlist from your MP3 player, or your computer. Add your name, location, company/school, and artist name and song title for your playlists. We'll compile them and share the results with our audience.
