We live in spaces that are filled with different kinds of objects, but despite the close proximity, these objects stand still and fill space while we just pass them by. This project stems from a desire to reimagine how we might interact with the objects that form the backdrop to our lives—and, in so doing, make our ordinary routines more special.

For this project, I wanted to make ordinary objects "alive" by thinking of surprising ways that one could interact with otherwise static objects. I believe that looking for new ways to interact with the objects that surround us can ultimately lead to moments that make our lives richer.
Pull Me to Life
This cabinet is made with an interactive scale pattern, that is activated when the drawer is pulled open. The panels gradually flip as the drawer is pulled and change color. I imagined this as if it was the skin of an animal reacting to outside stimuli—when the drawer is pushed back, the drawer changes its skin color again as if it were falling asleep or hiding away.
Fade
'Fade' changes its color and visibility based on the position of the viewer. Therefore, whenever you pass by this cabinet, you can feel something is happening. In a subtle manner, the cabinet invites you to pay close attention to its surface and translates a moment of beauty when you see its colors changing.
