Keys are a big part of all of our lives, unless you're incarcerated or living in one of those societies where they still cut your hands off for stealing. We're all resigned to having a tangled lump of metal jangling around our purses and pockets, and will be until biometric product developers get their act together.
Which is not to say people aren't trying to make keys more manageable through design:
The Keyport Slide was last April's stiletto-like attempt to reduce their bulkiness, and a month earlier Carlito's Contraptions revealed a DIY solution involving pop rivets; HealthMegaMall's Dumbbell Key Holder provides a similar solution for those with more than two or three keys.
Rehabmart's Bat-a-rang-looking device holds four keys in a switchblade-type device, as does the Maddak key holder.
Tiny Living's slick stainless key holder is a simple extrusion that can hold multiple sets of keys. Perpetual Kid's His-&-Her keyholders provide a cutesy solution for separating spouse's keys and will probably be loved by couples who like to wear matching outfits.
Lastly, Target's Sound-Activated Key Finder emits a piercing beep when you clap your hands, meaning you'll have to remember to turn your phone and your keys off next time you go to the concerto.
