Like us, you've probably wished for a fireplace in your small city apartment—now you can have one in any room of the house.

Spotted last week on Coroflot, Piet is a chimney-free indoor stove conceived by Fredrik Hyltén-Cavallius for his Masters project at Lund University in Sweden.

Burning ethanol fuel instead of wood, the fire creates no soot or smoke, making this suitable for an apartment with no possibility of a chimney installation. Furthermore, the stove is moveable (like a fire pit) which will allow you to move it from room to room, adjust for new furnishings, or take it with you when you relocate. The stove is visually and thermally enhanced with a folded brass reflector, and can be placed closer to walls and furniture because a layer of rock wool fire insulation between the reflector and the outer ceramic shell keeps Piet cool to the touch.
