Valencia Disseny Week Valencia Design Week 2010, or rather "Disseny" Week in native Valenciano dialect, kicked off just as things were starting to calm down at London Design week. A tough act to follow? Yes, but that didnt stop the ADCV, the Valencian design council, giving it their all to put their city on the design map. "Cosas" For reasons unbeknown to us, Urquiola felt it necessary to hang this year's collection from a rail in the ceiling and rotate them very slowly like some enourmous, upside-down sushi-go-round. LZF lamps LZF lamps are a lighting company local to the Valencia region, specialising in veneer wood. Designed by: LZF www.valenciadissenyweek.comSam Dunne 32 of 109
LZF lamps Let's face it. The lighting section is usually the dullest part of any furniture fair. Just booth after booth of lights and lampshades, most of them indistinguishable from the next. LZF lamps are seemingly trying to differentiate their stall through experience. You may have seen their enormous butterfly installation at ICFF in New York. The stall for this fair was made to represent the scales of a koi fish. Designed by: LZF www.valenciadissenyweek.comSam Dunne 33 of 109
