The Korean Cultural Service New York is inviting you to the opening of the special exhibition, WEBTOON, featuring one of the HOTTEST entertainment contents in Korea today.

The term WEBTOON is a combination of the words WEB and CARTOON; this new form of web and mobile friendly comics are published exclusively on the web, spawning an innovative online and off-line entertainment and business culture.

Plus, a renowned Webtoon artists, YOON Tae ho (major webtoon works: Moss and Misaeng) will be in attendance at the Opening Reception of WEBTOON Exhibition.

A curated selection of films inspired by webtoons will be shown in a special series at the Asia Society as a part of Korean Movie Night.

The exhibition will showcase the diverse genres of webtoons including comedy, drama, fantasy, action, thriller, and romance. In addition to webtoons, the exhibition will introduce movies, TV dramas, musicals, animations, games, and commercial products based on Webtoons.

In collaboration with a Korea's popular web portal site, Naver, and a global webtoon syndicate, Rolling Story, the Gallery Korea of the Korean Cultural Service New York is pleased to announce the opening of the first Webtoon exhibition in the United States. The exhibition will launch on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 whereas the first accompanying film screening will begin the following day on Wednesday, September 9th,, 2015 at the Asia Society in New York.

Webtoons, comics that are initially published exclusively on the web, have launched an innovative online cartoon culture. They can be enjoyed anywhere and anytime by simply going online or using a mobile app. The exhibition will showcase the diverse genres of webtoons including comedy, drama, fantasy, action, thriller, and romance.
